    Summary

“Stevie. I’d love to, but it’s… kind of a really bad moment. I mean. I really don’t think you want to be here tonight.”

“Oh, ah, sorry, yeah I can go. I didn’t see Wayne’s truck so I thought…That’s stupid, you could have someone in there. Or- I don’t know, I’m sorry. I’ll go.” Steve turns around to leave, thinking of where else he could go. Maybe Dustin’s, although he cringes at interrupting their Christmas like he did last year.

The expression on Steve’s face is so hurt that Eddie almost jumps in place, like he just burnt his hand or something. The dude looks so sad, like a motherfucking puppy or orphan or something and Eddie feels like he’s Satan for sparing Steve the cruel fate of freezing his balls off. He can’t do it. Besides, he actually would love the company, so he sighs, grabs Steve’s elbow and pulls him back. “Wait, Steve. Fuck. Okay, come here.”

    or

Christmas this year is going to suck - Steve is fighting with his parents and Eddie is home alone with the power cut off - so maybe they could come together to warm each other up and make one perfect Christmas.
