Summary
Keith Kogane, barman, down-to-earth kinda guy, dhampir... with some Dark Fae to make things interesting. His vampire father, made into ash centuries ago, his father's coven apathetic and far behind him, are just pieces of his past. He's had to move... quite a few times after being misidentified. A lot. Fangs are not a guy's best friend in a realm of mortals and supers intermingling, after all.
Only now he's settled in Platt, a major city of Arus, hoping he'll get through more than a decade without someone literally blowing things up on him. Too bad blood and destiny want him to do his part first.

Summary
While visiting the Holts for Christmas dinner, Allura is told about an ancient Earth tradition of keeping a nutcracker on your mantle to ward off evil. Like a great deal about Earth, it's agreed to be just a superstition that's a stubborn holdover from ye olde times.
Until she has a pretty weird dream about said nutcracker... and realizes that Earth is its own special kind of weird.

Summary
Shiro is going to a freshman party. He's not excited about it, but he's going and that's matters, right? He's away from his books and doing something other than studying or hitting the gym, and that means he's being a part of society. He'll down a few drinks, avoid a bunch of alphas, and go home. Easy peasy. Only it turns out that a certain gorgeous alpha named Keith is also attending the party (damn you, Matt), and Shiro is finally forced to do more than simply stare at his crush from across campus and pretend that constitutes a lovelife.
