Summary
After a long time spent out of touch, Olivia Benson hears that Rafael Barba is back living in New York. She finds out that he has renovated a brownstone in Brooklyn, where he now resides with his dog, Bruno. Olivia finds her curiosity piqued.
Following a chance encounter at a choir service, Noah seems eager to welcome Rafael back into both of their lives. Amanda and Carisi both offer their support and encouragement, and Olivia soon finds herself reconnecting with Rafael.
Gradually, they become closer and she lets herself begin to imagine a new life they could share together, as a couple. As they grow closer, however, Elliot Stabler makes a reappearance, still carrying a torch for Olivia.
This is a story with a Barba/Benson endgame perspective.

The same colours may paint different sceneries.
The colours that once painted a beautiful sanctuary now revealed a dense forest of fog where people either got lost or lost themselves. The colours that once reflected love and tranquillity had now bloomed into betrayal and grief.
They were still the same people in the same, familiar places. The fearless captain and the artful prosecutor. The commanding officer of SVU and the shark of the courtroom. Their colours, however, had shifted without so much as a warning. And yet amidst all of it, he wrote out not only colours but his heart into a storybook for her son, who knew how his words were his art.
