Summary
Slight AU/missing scene for S8E1 “Launch Date," just after Lance and Keith’s conversation.
Acxa comes looking for Keith in the desert and they talk into the night.
“You came out here instead of joining your comrades?” Acxa asked after what felt like a long time. Everyone else, it seemed, had big plans for the evening. Dates and parties and family dinners.
He shrugged, “I didn’t feel like it. And anyway, everyone I care about is coming on the Atlas.”
There was another pause, and the awkward silence threatened.
“What about you?”
“You are the only one here that I know.” Her tone was matter-of-fact, but Keith knew loneliness when he saw it.
For a long moment the only sounds were the cicadas and the first breath of an evening breeze.
“Wanna come up?” He nodded toward Black’s head.
“Yes.” She smiled and the smile transformed her usual scowl into something warm and open. -
