Vecna let out a long, exhausted breath.
“Will, if you start running, you’ll wake the Demodogs. William.”Will started running.
Vecna stopped for a second.
Then he looked around—
cracking vines, distant screeches, the very familiar sound of things going wrong.“Of course,” he muttered. “Why wouldn’t you.”
As the Demodogs lunged after Will, Vecna raised his hand.
“No, no— not him. You. All of you. Come here.”The Demodogs hesitated.
One tilted its head.
Another screamed.Vecna sighed and started running after them.
“I swear, I cannot do anything quietly in this place.”*
In this story, Will is 11 years old, and Vecna completely forgets all his evil plans and ends up babysitting him instead. Will sighs, resigned. He drops his hands. “Okay. Honestly?” He hesitates, then shrugs. “He was a bad kisser. And I just… couldn’t get excited around him. At all.”
The reaction is immediate and merciless. Dustin makes a dramatic gagging noise. El gasps like she’s been handed gossip gold. Lucas high-fives Max, shaking her hand in his.
Mike doesn’t say anything. He just watches Will, watches the way he shrugs it off, the way he laughs a little too loud, the way his ears go red.
Or, Will's new boyfriend is a bad kisser. Mike thinks it's a crime that no one has kissed Will properly. He's on a goal to change that, Carlton be damned.

Summary
Henry Creel has trapped Will Byers in the upside down since the age of 12. When Hopper and Joyce found Will, they weren't aware that they brought the wrong one back. Now, at 17, Will struggles to communicate with the real world above as he is forced to watch his own life pass him by through a looking glass.
When Holly Wheeler goes missing, Mike Wheeler is told that he has no choice but to go to the upside down to save her. He mistakenly complies, and upon visiting the mirrored world, he finds Will again. Torn between his own belief, and the party's need to kill Vecna, Mike ends up with a gun in his hand and a Will on each side of him. But which one is Henry disguised as?
