For all intents and purposes, Nihlus Kryik died on Eden Prime... shot cowardly in the back of the head, and left in a pool of his own blood. But as Shepard stood from her seat beside the MedBay cot, she gently squeezed the turian's talons as she always did, and finally received a weaker one in return. Smiling in relief, she left her partner to his rest; the curve of her lips turning into a full grin, when she found Garrus and Wrex waiting for her in the Mess Hall. The krogan tossed her a MRE bar without a word, before the turian held out a bottle of water. Unable to help it, Shepard laughed, easily understanding their silent jibes. But before she could say anything, Joker called over the comm: “Hey, Shep? ETA five minutes... and it looks like they've rolled out the welcome wagon.”
