The colosseum was a cacophony of cheers, roars, whistles, cries for more. Rook looked up at the Imperial box and her god gazed back, unblinking, hungry. Blood was to be spilled. The drums pounded throughout the arena.
Rook opened her mouth and drooled blood, spitting, hitting arid ground.
She would give them what they wished for. Give him what he wished for.
Gladly.
The cheers reach a fever pitch as a competitor screams, skin sloughing off. Uncle would be proud.

This child, this... Rook. She was the one to ultimately free him from that infernal prison, the one to subvert the betrayer.
He sees her being hauled off by her allies. He also sees the small pool of blood left in her wake. He bends down to rub a hand through it, sparing a glance at their retreating forms before turning to his sister, eyes fixed on the blood on his fingers.
He slowly curls his hand into a loose fist, and a few hundred yards away, Rook's muscles relax.
(In which Solas is not the only one to take advantage of blood magic in the moment.)

Summary
After two months of hiding it seems the sun is finally returning to normal and the visitors, unable to handle the temperature change, are rapidly dying off. With it being safe to return outside the homeowner’s guests set out to return to their lives. For the first time since the “apocalypse” he finds himself alone and oddly enough the man finds that he no longer enjoys the solitude that he once craved. Eager for something familiar, he decides to open his home to guests again. The homeowner quickly learns to be careful what you wish for when a familiar pale visitor returns, this time as his new roommate.

A Palegun fic where they end up as roommates. Intruder regresses to a more human-like state as it gets colder, and becomes more monstrous as it warms up (Infection goes dormant and flares up based on temperature).
