"After months of staying in the dark and keeping low—doing whatever it takes to survive—are you seriously considering taking in a whole fucking stranger we found in the middle of an abandoned home just because he was holding a cat when I pointed my gun at him?"
Oh. Wow. Okay. Jay's thoughts definitely weren't going wrong when he thought the long-limbed, pale one with thick-ass eyebrows was looking like he was 3 glares away from killing him. Which he actually was close to when the door to the kitchen where Jay stood rapidly burst open and fell down to the ground, and before Jay could even blink, a gun was being pointed at him. Not very friendly.
"Yes. Yes, I am. It's also been months since any of us have seen a single survivor, and we have one right now. Looking.." The shorter yet broad one retorted. This one seemed nicer. He was probably younger than Jay based on facial features.
"Cute."
Jay's face showed his reaction before he could speak any word. Standing in the middle with a bunched-up cat with a leaf of lettuce in its mouth in his arms did look admittedly stupid, but Jay wasn't going to let that mark his dignity.
Meow.
"We're fucked."
