Anakin’s voice startles Rex from the depth of his thoughts. He is not normally given over to introspection and Rex swims his attention back to the current moment. The sun is low and beats on the side of Rex’s head. He rubs the hot skin of his ear.
“What does, Sir?”
“The thing that binds us.” Anakin looks somewhat smug. “You were thinking loudly again.”
