    The battle between Earth and Asgard had been going on for years, now.

    With Thor by their side, the Avengers had held their ground against Odin's relentless efforts to take over their realm; batallions of Einherji had failed to make a dent in their defenses, and Tony was liking their odds of showing the would-be conqueror just how tenacious mortals could be.

    At least, he liked them, until the new guy showed up.

    Loki, Thor called him, but that was most of what he could tell them, was powerful, sly, and clearly determined to mess with them.     Loki knew he was courting death when he decided to attempt to stab Thanos, so he lied to Thor about the sun shining on them again. He knew he was going to die. And he died under Thanos’s arms. But what he hadn’t expected was for him to wake up again, certainly not in the body of his younger self a week before Thor’s coronation. Given a second chance in life Loki decides to make a decision unlike his younger self...he runs away and hides in Midgard.     In the Shire there were two truths. The Tooks were odd and the Baggins were respectable. The Baggins family dealt in contracts and favours, and while the Shire knew that the Tooks were odd, it was the Baggins family that had other blood running through their veins.
    Bilbo Baggins did not go running out his door for want of an adventure, he went running out his door because of a terribly worded contract and a laughable quest that somehow held the spark of other.
    In this story, it is not the Tooks that held fae blood in their family tree, it is the Baggins, and theirs is so much closer to the surface.

    Just as Will steps inside the Brooklyn Art Museum, the dead begin to rise.

    Attempting to escape, Will finds Francis Dolarhyde, who has broken his leg while evading the zombies. Given the circumstances, it takes Will some time to clock him as the Red Dragon, but Dolarhyde knows exactly who Will Graham is.

    They escape in Dolarhyde’s van and set out to find their loved ones, heading first for Molly’s home and then Reba’s.

    Meanwhile, Hannibal is safe from the walking dead inside his glass cage; they can't get in but neither can he get out, and with all the BSHCI staff either dead or fled he is faced with the prospect of slow starvation.

    All his hopes hinge on Will coming to see him again, but as the hordes of undead grow and civilization falls, road travel becomes increasingly more difficult, and Will doesn't know if he will make it there in time.
