“What can I get you, Neil Josten?”
Neil stood still, staring. He didn’t say a word for what felt like hours, enough time for some memories of blue eyes watching, always observing, to fill Andrew’s head. Say it, he thought, hoping with everything he had in him that this wasn’t some sort of hallucination. I need you to say it.
“I…” Neil choked out, pausing. “I would like a small coffee.”
It felt like Andrew had been physically struck. “Sure. Room for cream?”
“No,” Neil said. “Just black. Thanks.”

Summary
In order to get over his ex who is getting married, Kevin forces Neil to go into a pact with him: they each have to find each other’s dates to the wedding, since clearly Kevin can’t be trusted to find someone good for himself, and Neil is just hopeless.
Neil thinks he’s found a good match for Kevin in Andrew: he’s good at exy, he can tolerate Kevin at his worst, and he always turns up whenever Kevin and Neil are out and about. Neil is pretty sure Andrew is half in love with Kevin already.
Andrew is, obviously, very much into Neil.

Summary
Neil is a math nerd who, by a stroke of dumb luck, falls into a group of friends that are the closest thing to family he’s ever had. One they insist that if Neil follows it, he’ll have them falling for him in no time. But things don’t always go to plan – or do they?
Nicky wants to set him up with someone else. Matt and Jeremy are confused but supportive. Allison and Seth offer lewd suggestions, while Dan does her best to keep everyone in line. Jean and Renee know something, Aaron doesn’t really care, and Kevin just wants Neil to join the lacrosse team.
But one thing’s for certain – whether Neil’s successful or not, everyone’s got money riding on this.

Summary
Neil sees Kevin Day everyday at the train station, but Kevin Day never recognizes Neil.
When Kevin finally does notice Neil, he also immediately falls on the train tracks and succumbs to a coma of indeterminate length.
Then all of Kevin’s friends and family assume Neil is dating Kevin, and Neil doesn’t know how to tell them he hasn’t spoken to Kevin—or anybody at all, really—for almost seven years.
So Neil lets the Foxes think he’s dating Kevin. Just for a little while. Just until Kevin wakes up.
