I originally posted this story on Fanfic.Net way back in 2014. At the time I was very pleased with what I had written, but it never got cross posted on here because at the time I did not have an A03 account. I might have posted it sooner if I had not lost my original files when I bought a new laptop. But since I have been looking through some of my old work on Fanfic, I think that now is quite a good time to share this work on here.
I have made some edits and changes to the text, but the story remains the same.Ten years on and everyone, both in the living world and the afterlife, are happy. However, one spirit is still unhappy at how things turned out. A demon also seeks revenge, and manages to manipulate someone who swore never to be manipulated again. Atem is captured and held prisoner, and Yugi is about to have his comfortable life turned upside down in a fight for survival. Also features Marik and Bakura. Peachshipping, Vaseshipping, may be mentions of other pairings too.

Summary
This is the first in a series of short stories I have written. They are individual one-shots and do not make up part of a longer story. However, some might tie in with each other. There will be often be a focus on various relationships, as well as hints at relationships, either plutonic or romantic. Most of these were written when I got writers block, or bored of other multi chapter stories I was writing at the time; I probably have about eight pieces that are written so far, and will add to them as ideas pop up, or if I get requests that I like the idea of. So please feel free to make suggestions. Just don't ask me to write any Prideshipping.
There may be some innuendo, fluff, bad language and adult themes, but nothing too graphic and a warning will be put at the beginning of each chapter.

Yugi has a crush on Anzu. He would like to ask her to be his girlfriend, but doubts she will ever be interested in a small, nerdy boy like him. If he is to win her love, he knows he needs to change, but at the moment does not know if he can. He has no idea that the secret to success lies in the ancient artefact he has been trying to assemble since he was eight.

Summary
When games night at Ryou Bakura's takes an unexpected turn, Yugi is left shaken. Things then take a turn for the worse when Ryou accidentally dies and Yugi disposes of his body, with disastrous consequences. Warnings on each chapter.
