Summary
The Inferi had gathered around him in the water, endless waves of them, and as one, they had sunk to their knees. Some half-submerged, others kneeling atop the backs and shoulders of their fellows into a grotesque mound of wet, rotting flesh. A web of white strung them together, shimmering faint and unnatural in the moonlight, holding them in place.
Regulus stared at the army that had tried to drown him, but now knelt in subjugation. The sight was so absurd he would have laughed if he didn’t feel himself slipping out of consciousness.
In the brief moment before he passed out, he thought he saw the Inferi’s jaws work open in a low guttural groan.
Regulus, they seemed to be reaching out to him.
Little King.tldr: regulus went to the cave to die. instead, he finds himself commanding an army of the undead.
