Summary
For over half a decade, the Citadel Council is losing a war against the race simply nicknamed the Friskies (Lankies). But hope can be found in these troubling times. A signal could be detected off in the Attican Traverse. A single Turian Dreadnaught and an escort force move to investigate.
And they jump right smack into the Capella System, in the middle of a brawl between the Lankies and Humanity.
With nukes at play.

The device, buried under an enormous amount of rock, is finally fully excavated a decade of work later. Now the year is 2071 and humanity activates the device for the first time. Going forward to where no man has ever gone before.

What if humanity had never made it to Mars?
In this version of their history, the resource wars from the 21st century spilled over into a full on Third World War, but those who survived managed to rebuild and eventually returned to space under sub-light speeds.
In 2157 a turian navy frigate is forced to go through an uncharted relay to track down and stop a batarian slaver cruiser. The same ship has been abducting humans from the Sol system with the Council none the wiser. Through the Charon Relay, the turians find the batarians attacking the third planet from the system’s star, and the First Contact War takes a new form.
