Summary
Abandoned by his alpha after their confrontation on Mount Coronet, Rei is left to raise his and Volo’s child alone, all while working to complete his mission from Arceus. All he can do is try and move forward, hoping the deity will allow him to return home if only he can somehow complete his god-given task. Even if the means to accomplish said task feel more and more impossible while balancing the needs of caring for his newborn son.
Adaman may not know the full details of Rei’s situation, but he knows he wants to help. He had remained respectful of Rei’s mated status while Volo had been around, had done his best to repress his true feelings for the omega.
But now that Volo was out of the picture…
Maybe now was his chance to prove to Rei that he could be the alpha he needed. That he was the one worthy of having Rei’s heart.
Even if having sex with Rei during the omega’s visit to the settlement, all while knowing full well Rei had to still be hung up on Volo, maybe wasn’t the best first step to proving this.

Summary
Many years before Viktor becomes the Machine Herald, Jayce drunkenly tells Viktor he wishes Viktor were a girl. The Hexcore transforms Viktor's body based on his subconscious desire for Jayce to want him. Later, during a (weirdly sensual) fight with one of the Machine Herald's robots, Jayce starts to suspect the Herald remembers Jayce's drunk confession, and asks to meet Viktor in his new form so he can see for himself.
