Years later, when charts had been topped, awards had been won, and and history had been made, people would ask Minerva if she ever would have predicted that a chaotic beam of sunshine, a lonely reader, a haunted dreamer, and a friendly liar would have ever become the success that they had. She would always give the same response, paired with a stern brow but a slight smile: she should have known it all along. They would ask her when it had all begun, and with a sparkle in her eye, she would tell them that it had all started somewhere almost ridiculously simple.
All of the mischief and madness and magic had begun at a school talent show.
