Summary
Life is a strategy game for Thomas, always has been. He prides himself on his intellect: the ability to step back, evaluate each detail logically, and make the most rational, thoughtful decision. But there is no intellectualizing what's happening between him and Micro. There's no rational explanation for the feeling in Thomas's gut whenever Micro so much as looks in his direction. Except that he has, somehow, fallen head over heels for Micro.
Thomas has a crush. And he's crushing hard.

Flux was standing right there. In a three-piece suit and perfectly coiffed hair.
“Holy shit.” Saparata hissed. He grabbed Jophiel’s bicep and pulled her back. “That’s the guy! The guy from last night.”
“No way.” Jophiel’s eyes bounced between the two.“God, he looks like he just stepped off the cover of Forbes magazine. Or whatever the nepo babies are reading these days.” Saparata continued, eyeing him up and down. Who the fuck looked like that after stumbling out of a dinky apartment?

“Look. Whatever it is…” Micro bites his lip. “I’m sure this, you, uh, stabbing yourself with a sword isn’t the answer, yeah? Are you alone out here? Did anyone else come with you?” He glances around. “No? Then hey, how about this? We can go find them together. I’ll personally escort you—”
Maybe it's pity. Maybe Micro sees a bit of himself in this man, trying to follow through with the one thing that has lingered in a distant, dark corner of his mind.
Whatever else he's about to ramble dies on his chapped, dehydrated lips. From behind the mess of his bangs, the man finally looks down and meets his gaze.
The first thing Micro notices — Wow. His perfect eyes match the perfect shade of his perfect hair.
“Yeah?” Micro tilts his head. “I promise I’m a great trip buddy—”
"Saparata…?"
Or, after the war, instead of turning himself in, Thomas decides to take an alternative approach.
