Summary
To everyone else at Cang Qiong Mountain, the twins that Yue Qingyuan had suddenly brought to the sect were certainly a mystery- yet the biggest shock of all is when they’re unexpectedly accepted by the fearsome Lord of Qing Jing Peak, becoming the first disciples to ever be accepted outside of the yearly entrance trails.
The rumors only grow when the brothers start to show rather odd behavior: they seem to be avoiding everyone, and the rare times they are actually seen by others, they appear identical and are practically attached at the hip, not to mention that the few who somehow manage to talk to them all find the new pair of disciples a bit strange.
Haunted by the fragmented memories and phantom scars of their past lives, Shen twins Jiu and Yuan promise each other that even if the whole world is against them, they can take it all on so long as they’re together.
Also: A mute Shen Jiu and a deaf Shen Yuan have to hide these facts from everyone else- causing shenanigans and misunderstandings to ensue.

Summary
Shen Yuan transmigrates during the previous generation of Cang Qiong, and despite being totally mediocre (or so he thinks) he ends up becoming the Head Disciple of Qing Jing Peak. Shen Yuan decides to try and live his life to the best of his ability, avoid the scum villain when he makes his inevitable appearance, and grow stronger so he can stay alive long enough to be able to see his favourite protagonist in the flesh - and then escape so he's not killed when Luo Binghe takes over the world.
But, of course, the plot has got to plot, and nothing ever goes according to plan.

Odysseus, (around 20–25 years old), is the prince of Ithaca. He did something questionable back on his island (what exactly will be revealed later), and to avoid stirring up the council of elders, he was sent off to travel for a year so that tensions could cool down.

He wouldn’t be able to ascend with the others anymore, wouldn’t be able to go on missions or use Xiu Ya any better than a mortal could.
He could no longer practice inedia, or hell, even keep up with his disciples who already had half-formed golden cores. Who would listen to him now, who would respect him now? What good was a strategist who couldn’t keep up with the men he ordered around? What good was a teacher who couldn’t demonstrate anything he taught to his students?
What good was a cultivator who couldn’t fucking cultivate?
Shen Qingqiu manages to save Liu Qingge's life in the Lingxi Caves at the expense of his own cultivation and immortality. Now condemned to a short, brutish life as a mortal again, Shen Jiu chooses to leave it all behind and eke out a small living while he can, aware that death could be at his door any day now.
