Summary
They’d gathered for a drink but not TO drink. But somehow they collectively realized there were more Muggleborns in the room than not, and the novelty of this sparked a goofy gaiety that turned into more drinks and greater levels of gaiety. Malfoy was there, but he held himself apart, standing guard at a nearby window, staring out, but Hermione knew he was listening carefully. Dean was there, though, and he and Hermione found themselves drinking and giggling together and swapping summer stories.

This scene is inspired by “The Fallout” by everythursday (and is set within that story) and wrapping my head around the fact that two of the top songs in the UK in 1990 were Ice, Ice Baby and a rerelease of Unchained Melody.
