Lloyd thinks he finally gets a break after everything that happened with Harumi, the Overlord returning and his father trying to redeem himself.
He thought wrong.
When the masked leader of a cult-like organisation called SkyZero contacts him and informs him that they captured his cousin and past enemy Morro, who is also not dead like he should be, he has to figure out whether to stay out of it or to try rescue Morro and stop whatever SkyZero has planned.
Even after he’s made his decision, things end up not being nearly as simple.

After his first run in with the Administration, Zane figured that it wouldn’t be the last he’d see of them, however, he wasn’t expecting to get captured again so soon. Neither was he expecting to be brought straight to the Administrator herself. P.I.X.A.L knows that protocol dictates that unruly equipment is to be incinerated, however after just one look at Zane, the Administrator can't bring herself to have him destroyed. Now Zane must manage to jog his amnesiac wife while P.I.X.A.L runs the Administration with an iron fist.

Set shortly after the serpentine era, the story begins when Master Wu brings a mysterious young elemental master to the monastery:
Soren — Lloyd’s long-lost older brother and the rare Elemental Master of Pressure.
Soren possesses an ancient, terrifying ability tied to gravity, atmospheric force, and compression itself. His powers are so immense that simply existing places crushing strain upon his body, leaving him constantly exhausted and quiet. Every step he takes dents stone. The air grows heavier around him. Most people find his presence intimidating.
But beneath all that pressure is someone gentle, lonely, and deeply caring.
While the other ninja are initially shocked by Soren’s overwhelming strength and eerie calmness, Cole becomes drawn to him almost immediately. As the Elemental Master of Earth, Cole feels an instinctive connection to Soren unlike anything he’s ever experienced — as though the earth itself wants gravity close.
