Benson tilted his head slightly, eyes half-lidded, expecting a kiss. That would’ve made sense. That would’ve been the story. Instead, the kid leaned in too far, breath fanning over Benson’s jaw, then his neck. And then—
A sharp, wet pain, sudden and deep.
Benson jerked. It was instinct, primal, but the kid was already wrapped around him, stronger than he should’ve been. His arms weren’t gentle now.
