Summary
“Hey. It’s Adam, huh? I’m Nigel. Fucking nightmare of a holiday season, isn’t it?”
Adam paused, lowering his hands, looking at Nigel in earnest for the first time. He sniffled and his lower lip shook, which was fucking adorable and sweet, and Nigel felt a strange pull on his own heartstrings. What the fuck was that feeling? Oh, no, please...not this again!
A broken nutcracker ornament brings together two strangers who are having miserable Christmases...right up until the moment they meet each other.

Bookmarker's Notes
This is by far one of my *favorite* fan fictions that I have ever read. I had wanted to reread this fic after finding it sometime in the last year and I nearly cried when I couldn’t find it on my own. I ended up enlisting the help of other Steddie (plus Gareth :D) shippers on a Discord to finally get here. All we had to work with was “Steve is part demo-something; pack mentality; not a/b/o or werewolf!au; Steve makes trilling and chirping sounds; scent-marking, kids are confused but go with it eventually”. It took five hours and seven *other* fics to finally recover this gem. The writing stayed with me and the feelings left deep impressions that came to me every now and then since the first time I read this masterpiece.
I am truly hopeful that you continue this story. Thank you for creating this beautiful work.

Bookmarker's Notes
Absolutely phenomenal. I have never read a story so emotionally powerful until I found this masterpiece. The relationship between Dustin and Steve is and will forever be one of my favorites; you captured the love and fierce devotion that makes up their friendship so well. I will be recommending this work of art to anyone who asks (and especially to the ones that don’t). The bonus of Eddie and Steve’s growing romance was tastefully written and expertly paced. At no point in this work did I think that one storyline was getting more growth/screen-time than another. I loved the poetic justice of Vecna’s defeat; the insight into Eddie’s reasoning for drawing the demo-bats from the trailer was heart-wrenching and impactful; the raw emotion that the found-family of three (Steve, Eddie, Dustin) gripped my heart and still refuses to let go, even now, some ten minutes since I finished reading. Overall, fantastic work. Now, if you would excuse me, I shall be rereading this until my phone dies. Kudos, you magnificent being.
