Summary
Three years ago, Mingi disappeared.
Captured. Brainwashed. Reprogrammed into the very weapon the rebellion swore to fight against. Yunho has spent every day since searching the ruins of their city for a glimpse of the boy who once whispered freedom songs into his skin.
Now, Mingi is the government’s sharpest blade: efficient, merciless, and nearly unrecognizable. Except for the way he hesitates. The way his eyes flicker when Yunho says his name. The way Yunho still believes.
Yunho has risked everything: his role in the resistance, the lives of those who follow him, and the trust of the men he calls family. All for the chance to reach the part of Mingi that still remembers what it means to love and be loved.
"He remembered my name this time."
And that might be enough to end a war.

Summary
When Sakuya was younger, he always wondered about the Korean man who seemed to appear at every Maeda family gathering. Birthdays, New Year’s Eve, dinner parties, reunions—you name it. Uncle Riku never came alone, always with a bright smile on his face as he stood beside the Korean man towering over almost everyone in his family. They called each other “roommates,” said it with an easy smile like it explained everything. But to Sakuya, it never really did.
To the world, Riku and Daeyoung are roommates. But Sakuya knows his uncles are so much more than that.

Summary
“You didn’t have to kill him,” Yunho notes coolly, nudging the heavy lifeless mass with the tip of his shoe. It doesn’t actually matter. Just a small tug on Mingi’s leash, a reminder Yunho never ordered him to take this guy out.
Cold rivulets of rainwater stream down Mingi’s face, matting his black hair to his forehead. It partially obscures his bloodshot eyes, dark like a caged animal. But there is no rebellion in his gravelly voice when he grunts out, “Sorry, Yunho.” Some animals do not want to be set free.
(or: Yunho and Mingi have always survived together. They don’t know any other way.)

Mingi takes the 'run' part of the mating run literally. Yunho reminds him where he belongs.
(Or: A hunt only ends when the prey is caught.)
