And suddenly, Zayn feels nineteen and too young again, loving a boy he can touch but can't understand, kiss but not quite reach. He's heartbroken all over, tired and feeling every one of his years trying to forget this boy in front of him slip away.
"You should go," Zayn says, fingers digging into his palm. He's proud of how his voice sounds, firm and emotionless, so unlike the younger version of him threatening to break through.
"I loved you," Harry replies, eyes wide and so, so green. It's about 8 years too late.

Sam gives Steve’s shoulder a hard shake. “There is nothing wrong with you, man. Everybody deals with the stuff they go through in different ways. You wanna be under water, this is the best I can offer you right now.” Sam says, “You know we’re going to find him, right?”
Steve blows out a slow breath. “I keep thinking, what if Bucky doesn’t want to be found? I don’t want to be – I can’t be another person hunting him."

Life isn’t a fairytale, Bucky isn’t the roguish yet lovable protagonist, and Tony definitely isn’t his Prince Charming.
No, in reality, Bucky takes his clothes off for money, and Tony is just another customer. The fact that they keep falling into bed together proves nothing, and a candle in the middle of the table doesn’t automatically make a dinner a date.
Bucky doesn’t get that lucky, this isn’t some cheesy rom-com, and real life doesn’t work like that.

Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers’ best friend. Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers’ wingman. Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers’ teammate. And now, well, now Steve had other people to fill those positions. And of course, of course he’d always been a little bit in love with Steve. So when he overhears Steve telling Natasha that he’s finally found someone he’d like to date, someone with similar life experience, Bucky clings blindly to the hope that maybe, just maybe, Steve is talking about him.
