Erwin Smith, junior solicitor, has been sent to the coast to catalogue the estate of the late-Kenny Ackerman. He is intrigued not only by the treasures he finds there, but also Ackermans nephew and heir, Levi. The small, dark-haired man isn't the kind of person Erwin images with wealth, especially after he shows outward disdain for the wealthy elite in Mitras. It doesn't help that his manor, The Peaks, is the strangest house Erwin has ever been to. As the two men grow closer through mutual work, strange things happen, and Erwin is dogged by a shadowy figure as he explores the vast estate.
