Summary
Bruce didn't mind being popular, he didn't really have any pride in it but it could be gratifying sometimes. Unfortunately, being popular comes with a lot of pressure, though he tries to ignore the pressure, he has to keep up appearances for his parents sake, they'd be pissed if he ruined his 'golden boy' image.
But as he befriends the 'losers' of the school as well as some of the most disliked, his image slowly starts crumbling. Bruce doesn't know whether he has enough energy to care anymore, he's happy, surely that should be enough for his parents.
