Lan Qiren simply refused to allow this to continue; clearly everyone had lost their minds. First, Wangji had been punished with thirty-lashes because of Wei Wuxian, and now Xichen was in seclusion, hiding away because of misplaced guilt.
He made the wish with fury in heart, and anger clouding his thoughts; a wish that Wei Wuxian had died long before he could have done anything of import.
And his wish came true.
