Summary
The first sign appeared when armed forces advanced beyond accepted borders. Confirmation came with the signing of a document on a fateful night when three old crones foretold the impending doom, unbeknownst to all. Ships bearing the British ensign dropped anchor in the harbour of Saint Petersburg, hoping to rekindle an old friendship. Within the Imperial Court of Tsar Aleksandr, forces rallied on both sides of a politically charged issue. In this world of strict social conventions and the absolute power of the nobility, the battle lines flickered under the crystal chandeliers of elegant ballrooms. Flamboyant music and the graceful sway of exquisite gowns marked the introduction of the son of an Earl to an unsuspecting Grand Duke.
