Summary
I can see the door from the corner of my eye, but it is useless to me. This man now has power over the whole ministry and, despite his temper tantrums and apparent frustration with his new position, he is very well aware that there is very little I, or anyone else in the organisation, can do to fight him anymore. He is a buffoon, a usurper entirely unworthy of his position, but that doesn’t make him any less dangerous.
He approaches still, the dark paint around his eyes emphasising his furious expression.

It is impossible, but he is back.
“Papa?”
My voice is barely a whisper, filled with all the appropriate awe at the sight of a man resurrected. But he looks strange too. Something is wrong. His robes are new, though the right colour scheme. His hair has gotten longer, curling slightly at the ends. Well, it has been years. But he was dead. Everything hurts. I didn’t think the stab wound was that bad but perhaps I was mistaken. Perhaps I am dying and he is here to welcome me back to Hell, as he had welcomed me to Earth.

There are many things that Renato doesn't know about himself, about his place in the world. He doesn't know that he should have been raised as royalty, doesn't know that his parents sent him away when he was just three years old, telling everyone he had died, doesn't know that before he was born he was promised as part of a peace treaty to the rulers of a neighbouring kingdom - a land of devil-worshippers with access to dark powers. He doesn't know that they are coming to hunt him down.

Chapter 1: Burn - When Aether is injured, the pack calls on Dewdrop, of all people, to help heal him.
Chapter 2: Hiding An Injury - Terzo sneaks into Cardinal Primo’s rooms and steals a text on summoning ghouls. He and Secondo decide to give it a go. It does not go well.
Chapter 3: Homesick - A young ghoul is unexpectedly summoned from the pit. A different perspective of some of the previous chapter.
Chapter 4: Scars - A ghoul secretly decides to resurrect the Emeritus brothers. Necromantic rituals leave their mark.
Chapter 5: Ritual - A brother of sin is chosen to partake in a ritual. He should, perhaps, first have asked what it would entail. -

Merlin, Prince of Dracaneard, only meant to go visit Camelot in secret so he could see the land of prophecy and meet his uncle. He really didn’t intend to save Prince Arthur’s life or be given a job as his manservant for the trouble.
But it’s a good way to get to know the prince who is prophesied to unite Albion and bring back magic by Merlin’s side, isn’t it? And it’s not as if Arthur knows that his newest servant is the crown prince to Camelot’s enemy.
Surely, this won’t turn ten shades of complicated all too soon.

Summary
Loneliness is an insidious thing. When Merlin looks at Arthur, he sees not just a prince waiting for his time to rule, but a young man struggling to find his place in the world, with little help from anyone else.
The truth is, Arthur needs more than the friendship Merlin can offer. He needs people he can trust: men and women who will become his court and his confidants, and if he is going to survive to take the throne and lead Camelot into its golden age, he needs them sooner rather than later.
Finding loopholes in Uther’s laws is no easy feat. Court life is a dangerous game, but it’s one Merlin has every intention of winning so that Arthur can have knights of his choosing by his side.
