Summary
“I’m not a dentist,” Garcia says.
The slightly skunky taste-smell of latex floods her mouth and sinuses. She wants to say, well, duh, but Garcia’s finger is already in her mouth. Keep it short, charmer. Make it count. “Dentists aren’t even real doctors.”

“So what?” That lightness in her voice, not joy so much as pleasure, or pleasure so much as satisfaction. “Do you think I’m scared of a little blood?”

She thinks she might crawl on her hands and knees through miles of desert to catch a whiff of Garcia’s shampoo, that kind of pathetic.

Summary
His body has the shakes. He regards Armand: curled beside him, pretty as the animal in hibernation. Then smiles in a wan sympathy, half empty. Too sick to stick the landing.

Summary
Five just sits there, unruffled in his dishevelment, perched on the edge of Diego's bed with his feet, those clownish oxfords not even touching the floor. Pinocchio, or something; not a real boy.

Summary
“Did you know that, besides finger prints, dental records are the most identifiable record of a person?”
It’s difficult to see Armand with the light still beaming straight at him.
“Aren’t you a treasure trove of fun facts?” Lestat tries to smile, even goes so far as to huff a bit of air from his nostrils in an attempt at laughter.
Delicate cherub lips twist upwards at the corners, and Lestat can’t tell whether it’s meant to be a smile or a snarl. He doesn’t know which one he wants more. It makes him squirm either way.
“When the flesh is gone,” Armand tucks a stray curl behind his ear. “When the body is burned or bludgeoned beyond recognition, when the fingerprints are rotted away, they look to the teeth to uncover the mystery of death.”
