The 4th ninja war just ended. Naruto is forced to keep an eye on Sasuke as the Kages don't trust him, but its not like he hates being promoted to this task.
Konoha is still getting back on its feet so Sasuke is momentarily placed in Naruto's house.— This is how i imagine this would've actually, truly go between those two after the end of the war. SLOW BURN

Summary
The aftermath of the Fourth Great Shinobi War brought peace upon the village. Naruto Uzumaki has finally become the hero he always dreamed of.
Respected. Loved. Acknowledged.
But this newfound peace seems to have opened up a whole new can of worms. New responsibilities weigh heavily on Naruto. Insecurities linger, and the one person who truly understands him is gone.

Sasuke has been traveling for months, rarely responds, but the bond between them stands strong and constant, even with the distance.
Naruto tells himself the silence is okay. It's enough. Proof that Sasuke is alive is all he needs.
