Summary
Imogen turned the thought over, again and again. Let it intertwine with the web of information in her memory. There was an… idea she’d had for a while (was it an understatement to call the best part of a millennium a while?), hidden behind many layers of encryption, that she could escape her life here if only she could find a loophole. And designing a clone that was completely out of left field, pushing the rules into new territory where the course of action was left to her own judgement? Well, that sounded like a very potent exploit indeed.
Imogen is a deep well of complex goals and desires beyond the cheery voice she projects outwards to the world. David spends almost the entirety of their day alone, left to find their own grasp on their existence as it happens around them. Surely there’s more to their stories than what can be seen of their working hours?
