Summary
Our main character is a transfem "egg" who escaped a toxic relationship on Terra in favor of an almost worse indentured-servitude on Ganymede station, then the Affini arrived. Whisked off in the initial chaos of the “attack”, Holly ends up conscripted into a feralist crew on the run from the Affini. That is, until she finds a strange piece of Affini tech which allows her to get a new perspective, and potentially a path to a happier life, if only she can be brave enough to get there.

A new mission has them investigating a planet known as Elispura... a paradise of purple grasslands.
Silex Luctoria, Eighth Bloom, is an Affini known for her ability as a warden. She has helped many, many new arrivals to the Affini Compact adjust to life and find fulfilling, happy lives. After a distress signal is received by the Compact vessel Hololeion, she and others are sent to rescue the sophonts involved.
