Summary
Various moments between Robert and members of the Z-Team that expands on the characters and specifically, their relationship with Robert. This will very loosely follow canon and, at times, diverge from it, but not too much. Also, the canon romance in this fic will be Mandy, although romance is not gonna be a central focus here (mostly because I suck ass at writing it).
In this first chapter, Flambae makes a comment about torching Beef after Robert pisses him off and Robert loses his fucking shit on him.

Summary
Robert climbs out of the smoldering wreckage of his father’s legacy only to find that he's no longer needed. Mecha Man is, of course. But Robert Robertson? Ha. No.
So he tries to piece his life back together, however hopeless a cause it may be. But then it's time to announce his--hm, not retirement. Convalescence? Close enough--and it goes just a little too well. Chase never calls in the favor with Blazer so Robert never gets the job at SDN. Purposeless, he lets himself backslide. Forces himself to focus on the suit and only the suit because it's the only way he'll ever let himself live again (as if Mecha Man was much of a life beforehand).
Then a couple assholes bust down his door because the neighbors called for a wellness check and now Robert's plans of dying in a landslide of pizza boxes will have to be put on pause.
TLDR: Z-Team fixes Robert instead.

Summary
He didn't really expect an office romance. His boss would've used him as a rebound, and his most direct subordinate had more red flags than he had scars. He decided to keep his hands clean of both; the only thing he was really doing this for was to get the Mech running as soon as possible so he could find Shroud and beat him into less than a bloodied pulp and then continue digging himself into a pit of sacrifice and service.
His horned and terrifying subordinate envisioned something different for him.
