Summary
He'd loved her as long as he'd known her, and he'd known her for twenty-five years. Five times they nearly slept together (and one time they really did). (Spoilers for the entire series.)

Summary
Mark Scout wakes up alone in the stairwell. The panic is immediate: all the breath pressed from his lungs, his heart knocking wildly in his chest, something like electricity slithering under his skin. When last he’d been conscious, he had Gemma in his arms, her face pressed to his. Her voice still lingers in his mind: I’m sorry, she keeps repeating, again and again.
And now she’s gone.
--
A week after the events of the S2 finale, Mark Scout attempts to put together the pieces of his life. An added complication? He's still reintegrating, dreaming in Mark S.'s memories, and attempting to ignore the fact that his innie is trying to tell him something.

Bookmarker's Notes
He whispers into the shared air between them, “I don’t think it’s possible that there’s part of me who doesn’t love you. Or that there’s a part of you that I don’t love.” He says it because it’s true. He says it because she needs to hear it. And he says it because he thinks that Helena does too.

Summary
By the time they hit Richmond the sickly Virginia heat had crept in, wet and heavy, and his back was becoming one with the leather seat. Even Scully, who in his mind was the human equivalent of a cool Spring breeze, was looking—well, with her sweat-flecked hair and her eyes hooded against the morning sun, she looked just fine to him.
A humid weekend in Southern Virginia and a case that’s going nowhere fast. They edge closer to one another, for want of anything else to do.

Bookmarker's Notes
Right now, with the Virginia heat laying over her like a second skin, Scully wanted him badly. She wanted to be alone. She wanted to hear what he thought of that—ay, there’s the rub—and see the twitch of his eyebrow, his fat bottom lip. She wanted her clothes off. She wanted a gin and tonic, stacked with ice, and a lime to suck on when the glass was dry.
Slipping into bed with no cool drink and no warm lover, she thought of how easy it would be if she didn’t want so much.

Better Part of Valor as this scene slots in prior to the final scene from Malcolm’s POV.Phlox described Trip as unruly in a charming way and so I had to know why…

Summary
This series is a selection of small (and sometimes large) moments between the episodes where Aeryn struggles to understand John, and sometimes herself. It's about language barriers, but also cultural barriers, the psychology of loneliness and loss, and of course, how their relationship develops, because or despite the barriers.
While each can be read on its own, they do build on and refer to each other. I also occasionally throw in flashbacks to Aeryn's life before Moya that make a lot of assumptions about Peacekeeper life from what little we see onscreen.
