"I've done a lot of things I need to be sorry for, I've learned not to ask"

Summary
After watching s9 e6, where Cas for some reason knows all the words to 'Believe It Or Not' and sings it as a lullaby, I was possessed by the need to explain how he learned that song, and why it would be top of mind for him when he thinks of comforting songs. So here's a 5x03 coda where Dean spends the night trying to get Cas to sing along to the radio with him.

the phantom of the opera is here... in the department of engineering by randomananas

Summary
The Department of Engineering was haunted – whether it was a ghost, a demon or a very very grumpy associate professor, there was something or someone there.
Unattended uncompleted equations on the board would get corrected, sometimes solved if magnanimous, other times completely revamped and revisited – lines sharp on the blackboard from too rough fingers abusing on chalk, as if the Phantom was furious and disappointed on what the poor associate professor was working on.
If someone was courageous enough to leave their research paper unattended, the Phantom would review it and correct it and leave it where it was. It was the easiest, free-of-charge peer-review students could get, if they were brave enough to endure the scathing remarks the Phantom sometimes left.No one could escape the Phantom’s caustic commentary.
No one, except Jayce Talis.
or; imagine the Academy has a weirdo appearing at night to correct research papers and call everyone ignorant except YOU and it is driving you crazy.
