To whatever extent that Bucky could remember or piece together anything about who James Buchanan Barnes had been, getting caught up mooning over a reckless, smart-mouthed, pretty-faced fighter felt right to him -- felt like the lightest, warmest, part of who he’d maybe been. Sam was the best of the present, and brought up the best of the past. So here Bucky was, learning more about Sam instead of bothering with more about himself.
The starter questions had been easy to answer. Who he was, what he liked, where he went, who he talked to. Then things got complicated.

Surprisingly to Sam, Bucky isn't an ass man. Or a thigh man. Or a leg man. Breast man or arm man. He likes rubbing, patting, and squeezing Sam's ass, but he thinks of butts in the context of funny cartoon drawings. And Sam's butt is just fun! However, there is one thing he does like.
"What are you doing?" Sam mumbles, during their routine Nude-Noon Nap.
Bucky's forefinger and thumb flit along Sam's sides. "Your waist."
"Hm?" The grip tightens up and down Sam's obliques, squeezing.
"Your waist. It's small like a g-" Bucky's voice stops abruptly, his face nuzzling into the nape of Sam's neck.
"Like a girl?" Sam asks incredulously. "Wait, is this a thing?"
