He knew him. It seems like he always had. He hurt him once. He could again.
Empathy was rare these days. Especially toward him. And yet, for whatever reason, Keys never killed him. At least, he doesn’t remember Keys killing him, though he doubts he would remember something like that. Memory never served him quite that well.

Well, it turned out that someone did. Someone who cared enough to share, someone who didn’t mind the insecurity. Sans doubted the care he was receiving until the someone found out his little secret.
That someone was named Papyrus.

Summary
Rumors were whispered through the villages that dotted the base of the Snowdin Mountains. A lone wanderer drifted through the forest line of the frosted mountains, said to be a dangerous figure. But when a young man comes along and shatters the wanderer’s perspective on life, everything changes for the lonely soul who had been lost his whole life.
This fic’s setting is widely different from a typical Undertale AU underground. Monsters are on the surface, and while they are not completely abhorred, they are not truly accepted (until the end!).
