Summary
Caitlyn blinked, stunned. “What? No— Vi!” Her eyes glared at her lover, a silent plea for seriousness. “It will tether you to the realm, bind your soul to mine.” Her hand trembled, and Vi so often attuned to Caitlyn’s state of mind, let the other half fall to dark soil to cup her hand, enveloping her in a protective hold.
“What I’m hearing is that for half of the year, until the end of times.” It almost sounded like a fairytale. One ending in a happily ever after with the main protagonists so smittened with one another, nothing could break them apart. It would be so easy to believe it, to fall in the stream of love endlessly flowing. “I get to be by your side ruling a realm.”

Summary
The child looked peculiar. Unassuming. Not quite filthy, yet she seemed unclean. Caitlyn looked over the child. Studying her with a slight mistrust. She was leaning against her desk, reading over the youngling’s records, while also monitoring the child in her office.“You’re an orphan.” Cailtyn stated plainly, no hint of emotion. Though surprised by the kid’s aptitude test scores. Impressive.
“Not quite. My mom just doesn’t know I’m here.” The young girl only smiled. Still looking around the alpha’s large office. Touching everything, fascinated with Caitlyn’s fortune. The young girl stopped in front of a photo of Caitlyn and her parents; being handed the company. The girl glared at it, “Are you my father?”
The alpha appeared slighted. “Don’t call me that. I lean towards maternal propriety. But no,” Caitlyn snapped the folder closed. “I’m not. And since you’re not an orphan, then where is your mother—, Lavender?” She read the name off the folder.
Lavender got comfortable on Caitlyn’s couch. She shrugged, “You tell me. She stayed. You left…, mom.”
Caitlyn’s lips twitched, “You’re so certain you’re mine.”
