    (Y/N) had been in the underground for around a year now, she had done her best to keep herself hidden from the bloodthirsty monsters who sought her out for her valuable soul. She had grown accustomed to living in her small cottage deep in the wood outside of Snowdin in total isolation. She figured it better than daring to tread past the treeline and soon 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙝.

    "It's your funeral, doll. Harbouring someone like me ain't in your best interest." Sans said with a deep chuckle and a shrug of his shoulders. (Y/N) understood the truth in his words, she knew fully well what he was capable of and that allowing him to stay until he was strong enough was going to be her death sentence.

    (Y/N) didn't understand why she didn't just use the last flare in her gun and get rid of the problem. But, the thought of pulling the trigger brought a wave of nausea over her. She refused to become like the other monsters of the Underground, all clawing and fighting like vicious animals for the title of most feared.

    In interviews, he looks almost corny— the large yellow visor and fur-lined jacket trying a bit too hard to look recognizable, his hair seemingly crafted to look as wind-swept as possible— but up close, it doesn’t look like a costume at all. It looks natural, good; soft in a way you hadn’t been expecting. They edit out the bags under his eyes, or cover them with makeup, and while you aren’t exactly pleased to see someone who’s supposed to be protecting your city looking so worn down, you appreciate seeing the humanity in the living legend.

     
    Or, you're a diehard Best Jeanist fan who has no affinity for Pro Hero Hawks whatsoever. But after a few chance encounters, you think that the winged hero might be growing on you.
