Summary
Sansa Stark leaves her abusive husband the second she finds the chance but she doesn’t run back home to her family at Winterfell. Instead, she takes the Kingsroad all the way to Castle Black, a small Northern town where she heard her estranged foster brother, Jon Snow, had made a life for himself.
Jon Snow hasn’t seen Sansa since she was 14, and he believed he would never have a reason to after the fallout from his absence at Ned’s funeral. When she shows up at the Night’s Watch, his pub, he barely recognizes her. He doesn’t understand why she would come to him for help over Robb. He can only assume that, like him, she must have her reasons. -

Summary
Robb knows duty, he learned it standing at his father’s knee and sitting on his mother’s lap before he had a concept of what it actually meant. He was born to be Lord of Winterfell, Warden of the North. Kingship was never supposed to be on the table for him. But his family has been torn apart one too many times, and war seems endless; his only option now is to burrow in for the long winter, no matter the cost.
(And if that cost is his life? Well it’s a calculated risk he took the day they laid that weighty bronze circlet on his brow, naming him King.)
