Even in his state, He Xuan could see most people in the gambling den were far too transfixed on their wins and losses to worry what the lord of the city was doing. They all knew his eyes would be on them, ensuring fair games and putting down squabbles, but as to any illicit activities he may partake in...they did not care.
Except the ones who did.
He Xuan could see a few eyes turned their way. They would see the flush in He Xuan’s cheeks or notice his inability to move, and perhaps they would know what Hua Chengzhu was doing with his Omega. It was hard to say what he should read from their dark stares.
“Is that not why Alpha Chengzhu sits me on this throne?” He Xuan asked. Turning his head, he slyly stared at Hua Cheng from the corner of his eye. The shape of a smirk darkened his periphery. “Is it not to claim this Omega in front of your many, many subordinates.”
“Xuan’er,” Hua Cheng warned in a low tone.
