A Lattice is a war mech beyond all compare, a perfect union of augmented, mind-warped flesh and sleek, million-dollar military-industrial machine into a tool of battle. A Specialized Piloting Unit and their Guidance Officer are a single, razor-sharp blade of corporate vengeance. There is no room for error. There is no room for mercy. Supposedly, there is no room for love, except for the bastardized infatuation and mindless devotion to their Officers that SPUs are broken into thriving on, all to become a better and more effective weapon. Even though the corporations insist the pilots are no longer human, they use this Love to control their machines of war.
Out in the brutal, low-level violence of the corporate frontier, these assertions have been disproven a thousand, thousand times. This is just one episode in that continual drive for freedom and humanity, for love and justice.
TLDR: I got inspired by rounds of mecha-focused flash fic on Tumblr, several lovely pieces here on the Archive, and my hype for Armored Core to make a bizarre OC mecha universe and slap my characters into the middle of it. I hope you all enjoy!!!
