Summary
Aperture Science is a testament to Cave Johnson and his guiding philosophy: throw science at the wall and see what sticks. He encouraged that mindset in his workforce, a mindset which continued even after his death. Science for science's sake, advancement for the sake of advancement. The end justifies the means, no matter what.
Chell is the best test subject Aperture Science has ever seen. GLaDOS is Aperture Science's greatest achievement. Both are now the only ones left in the Enrichment Center, both missing integral knowledge about how they came to be who they are. To find out, they both must reckon with how Aperture Science has shaped their lives and what it means when science is not a question of why, it's a question of why not.

In Wizarding Britain, torn by the War so much that everyone has forfeited their names for titles that belie their position, what threat lies in wait for the uncompromisingly neutral position of the Wand-Fixer, and what remnants of the past refuse to be let go?
