Summary
Bartholomew "Hollow" Hainsley has presented as an Omega at the relatively late age of twenty-three, leading his brother, the Earl of Westbrooke, to start looking to marry him off. Summary
It is the night before the final battle. The last gambit.
They are in Emmrich’s room in the Lighthouse, almost but not quite a sanctuary, a center of calm in the raging storm beyond the stone walls.
Lucanis is seated at the short edge of the wide, four-poster bed. He is fully clothed with the heels of his boots on the stone floor, form-fitting trousers and forearms bare with his shirt-sleeves rolled up, silver buttons carved to resemble a crow’s head still deftly done in a column all the way up his vest, to the silk cravat under his high collar, hiding the flush on his neck as he gazes fondly at the tall, lithe silhouette of Emmrich who has his back turned towards him.
The one where Lucanis and Emmrich find each other on the night before the final battle.
