Summary
Cantarella Fisalia asks for the Rover's help to solve a problem she believes is a remnant of the Dark tide. She extends the same plea to the Montelli family's Executor, in part to show Rover she took their request for peace ...seriously, and partly because she expected her dear little Montelli to decline as she was too busy with family business. Secretly however, the most compelling reason was that Cantarella simply wanted to poke at Carlotta, now that she had some free time.
The unexpected happens, and Cantarella is forced to accept she is very, very, very easily distracted by silver hair, opal eyes, and danger all found in a fun sized package.

Summary
By the time night settled in, the world beyond the cabin windows felt impossibly distant.
The wine helped.
It was absurdly expensive, aged longer than either of them cared to calculate, and dangerously smooth. It warmed Iuno from the inside out, loosening thoughts she usually kept carefully leashed. Romance had already had its due, she reasoned—candles, soft words, memories spoken like vows renewed.
Making love on a night like this would have seemed natural.
Iuno thought otherwise.

"Okay, let's calm down first and then talk—wait a sec, was that brooch your equivalent to an engagement ring!?"
"Ma sei scema!?" Carlotta all but screamed, drawing confused stares from the passersby.
(Following a failed assassination attempt on Carlotta, she hires Rover to be her bodyguard for a day while she settles the matter. Little did Rover know, she'd learn something new about the young Montelli she assumed she had known well...)

Summary
“Wait, wait, wait.” Rover held up a hand, her face heating. “It’s not a date.”
Abby huffed, placing its hands on its hips. The hair tuft on its head stuck straight up, resembling an exclamation point. “Uh, yeah it is! It’s going to be just the two of you, hello! If that’s not a date, then what is it, huh? Huh?”
“Something to say thank you?” Rover protested weakly.
“...I think that dragon hit you a bit too hard when it knocked you out.”
Carlotta invites Rover out for obviously-date-activities. Rover doesn't believe it's actually a date. (She gets it eventually)

Summary
The problem, Carlotta decided, was that she didn’t know how Rover felt about her. She’d thrown quite a few flirtatious lines her way—Imperator knows she all but proposed to Rover the last time they’d been together, but Rover hadn’t really reacted. Or at least, not the way she wanted.
This needed to be remedied. Carlotta had the entire rest of the day off, as did Rover. A perfect opportunity to try every trick in the book to see if Rover felt the same way about her as she did. Of course, she could easily just come out and ask, but.
She was a Montelli, after all. Subtlety and boldness were in her blood.
OR
With a rare moment to unwind, away from her responsibilities as the new future head of house, Carlotta spends her precious time hanging out with Rover. Half-convinced Rover feels the same way she does, Carlotta sees just how long it takes for Rover to realize she’s flirting with her.
