And yet.
There was something about the way his gaze lingered on her just a little too long when he thought she wasn’t paying attention. Something about the way he always seemed to end up near her desk, even when the library was practically empty. Something that made her wonder, despite her better judgment, if perhaps Michael Sterling wasn’t entirely what he seemed.
