Feeling the Flowering cycle's approach, she found herself thinking more and more that Ekko could be a worthy mate. He was strong, intelligent, and quite handsome. When he held her so easily in his arms, when she noticed he could wrap one hand entirely around her forearm, something burst in her chest like a bubble full of sweet nectar.
Did he know what his every smug grin did to her? And if he did know, then why hadn't he done anything yet? Was he dumb?

They don't talk to each other when he's enrolled into Nevermore. But on occasion, perhaps once or twice in a month, they meet, straying away from the school's infirmary if only to avoid attention, and ask the other to help close up their wounds.
And maybe in doing so, they heal other wounds as well.
