Summary
Regulus Black was twelve years old when his older brother, Sirius Black, disappeared into the night, leaving him behind. He was thirteen years old when he presented as an Omega much to disdain of his parents who now had no real heir.
Regulus Black was sixteen years old when his parents died, strong winds and high waves pulling their ship down to the depths of the ocean, leaving Regulus nothing more but an orphan. He was seventeen when he was promised to King Riddle, a man known for his cruelty and brutality.
Regulus thought his life was over, knowing he won't live to see another year go by, but when strange set of coincidences lead King James to his rescue. It's interesting to think if faith and luck have anything to do with it or it was all thanks to someone unwilling to leave Regulus behind once more.

Summary
Regulus had never given much thought to how he would die- though he had reason enough in the last few months- but even if he had, he would not have imagined it like this.
Regulus stared without breathing across the long room, into dark eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at him.
Surely, it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone that Regulus loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.
Regulus knew that if he'd never went to Forks, he wouldn't be facing death now. But as terrified as Regulus was, he couldn't bring himself to regret his decision.
When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.
The hunter smiled in a friendly way as he sauntered to kill Regulus.
And not once had Regulus Black regretted meeting James Potter.
