Summary

Ardeth looked up at his boyfriend's voice. Jonathan was typing on his typewriter, but his eyes were on him.He closed the book he was reading and asked, "Why do you say that?". Jonathan shifted nervously in his chair and stared at the typewriter for a while. Bay noticed how his boyfriend sometimes had difficulty opening up, so he waited patiently."

"Feeling ridiculous for disturbing the man's sleep, Evelyn turned around, planning to go back to her room, when the door opened. "Evy?" Rick asked. "Are they always like this...?" Ardeth began.
"Yeah. Don't worry, you'll get used to it. More cookies?" Rick offered him. Ardeth shook his head and looked back at Jonathan, who was now making an adorably annoyed face as Evelyn continued to explain her theory. Ardeth seemed a little worried, but he wasn't inexperienced in chaotic sibling squabbles, though. He had two older sisters who were very close, but when they fought...
A chill ran through Ardeth as he remembered one particular fight. Something about a missing purse. Of course, Ardeth tried to calm things down and said calmly, "There's no need for violence." That was a grave mistake, because soon after, Ardeth found himself running for his life. He managed to survive thanks to his mother, who simply appeared and gave them that particular look that would make even Scorpion King cry, and then the Bay house returned to normal.

Jonathan tilted his head thoughtfully to the side before saying, "I was thinking about what Ardeth said about destiny. I mean, think about it: you married the man who guided us to Hamunaptra, and Ardeth told us that Rick is a kind of Medjai, right? And I'm dating a Medjai who protected Hamunaptra..."
Evelyn raised her head with a curious look. "Yes... And I remember you protecting Ardeth in Ahm Shere while I protected Rick." She stood up and went to her brother. "I think the four of us were destined to meet, right? Rick had the key with the map of Hamunaptra, and you stole it and gave it to me... and I always dreamed of going there. And then we met Ardeth there."

Jonathan took a sip of his drink while watching the party. It was a grand event hosted by the current curator of the Cairo museum, and there were archaeologists from everywhere... And his little sister had been invited. She and Rick had just returned from their honeymoon in Paris and were dancing at that moment. Jonathan recognized old friends and spoke briefly with everyone, but his throat was already tired from talking so much. It was then that he felt a hand on his shoulder, and it was a familiar hand...
